Voluntary Carbon Standard Offset Project Registration

MJB&A is supporting a major natural gas transmission company with the registration of its U.S. carbon offset projects on its natural gas transmission system.  The company is implementing an advanced leak detection and repair project to reduce methane emissions from its natural gas pipeline compressor stations.  This project uses approved baseline methodology AM0023 of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), “Leak reduction from natural gas pipeline compressor or gate stations.”  MJB&A is undertaking all of the necessary registration steps to ensure that the offset project is registered in accordance with protocol and registry requirements including writing the project design document, overseeing the validation and verification, and listing on the registry.  MJB&A is also supporting the company with the monetization of the verified emission reductions (VERs) through emission reduction purchase agreements with MJB&A utility clients.
