Job Responsibilities: The position involves work with private sector clients, primarily in the electric generating sector, and environmental organizations. Topics include, among others, assessing state, regional and federal environmental regulatory and legislative initiatives on:
- air pollution control,
- global climate change,
- market-based regulation,
- renewable energy.
Beyond the assessment of these issues, the candidate will work with clients in developing strategic positions that promote the adoption of effective environmental and energy policies.
The work includes significant research and writing, quantitative analysis of regulatory and legislative initiatives using databases and spreadsheets, and the design of graphic elements (e.g., charts and tables) for reports and presentations. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team with expertise in economics, law, engineering and policy. This is an entry level position for a candidate with 1-3 years of experience.
Skill Prerequisites: The candidate should have an outstanding academic record; excellent organizational, interpersonal communication and writing skills; strong quantitative and computer skills; and familiarity with air pollution, climate change, and/or energy issues. Creativity in graphic design and data presentation a plus. Relevant work experience required.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
