M. J. Bradley & Associates co-sponsored a series of seminars on the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), along with TRC, on September 19 and 20. RGGI is a cooperative effort by the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic states to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.

The objective of the seminars was to brief members of the business, financial and legal communities on the final RGGI Model Rule released in August 2006 and to highlight next steps in the RGGI process. The first of the forums was held in New York City, followed by a second seminar in Boston. Both seminars were well attended and featured lively discussion.

Michael Bradley and Brian Jones attended the seminars on behalf of MJB&A summarizing the RGGI Model Rule and next steps for the RGGI process.

Gina McCarthy Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection-a key player in the development of RGGI-offered the perspective of a RGGI regulator. Commissioner McCarthy emphasized the importance of RGGI in building momentum for national action and noted that the RGGI states are fully committed to implementing the program.
