Melissa is a consultant at MJB&A, providing clients with analysis of regulatory and policy initiatives on energy, climate change, air quality, and permitting issues. Melissa also provides support for the Clean Energy Group (CEG), a coalition of electric generating companies that share a commitment to environmental stewardship and work with policymakers and other stakeholders to promote effective environmental policy options in the areas of air quality and energy.
Prior to joining MJB&A, Melissa spent 10 years working in the electric sector in various environmental policy and clean energy roles. Most recently, she was a Senior Manager at Southern California Edison where she led a team of subject matter experts in the development and implementation of natural and cultural resource compliance programs, strategies, and guidance. Before joining SCE, Melissa was a Project Director at NextEra Energy Resources where she led the development of new wind energy generation projects in multiple states. Prior to that, she was an Environmental Specialist at Florida Power & Light Company where she managed emerging federal and state environmental regulatory and legislative issues, contributed to the Company’s sustainability reporting initiatives, and provided compliance support to the Company’s operating facilities.
Melissa holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida where she focused on environmental law and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Florida as well. She lives in Washington D.C. and enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking.
